Dublin

After a bit of sleep on the plane as well, Simon 21 year old birthday boy and i ended up in Dublin, Ireland.

It was well early and EVERYTHING was closed. good planning on my part? no.

so we wandered around the empty streets. finally settled for breakfast at a little shop, what a disappointment!

then we got a tour bus, figured it was less walking, could go to the Guinness factory, and learn a bit about the city!

the driver told us how he cured his depression, “i watch my wedding video… on rewind, my favourite part is when she gives me the ring back, gets in the car and fucks off.”

finally checked in at the hotel around 3. took a well needed nap. then got ready for dinner!

ate at a little thai restaurant, food was good but it’s no monkey & me ;)

then we went to cafe en seine, of course, for a couple! simon was so tired we were home around 1. not the night i had planned for, but it was good to get some sleep.

sunday we wandered around. bought a glass from hard rock for my mamma, looked in the shops. walked to where dad and i used to live. stopped by a christmas market, and last but not least drank in Temple Bar.

had a horrible indian meal for dinner and jetted off to the airport and were back in my flat in london by 1130.

went out to my favorite place here in dublin tonight, cafe en seine. had a lovely chat with my pappa but didn’t want to wear ourselves out for tomorrow, lady gaga concert! although it’s funny how hard it was to leave london, i love that city and i love being there. as well as the people i’ve got there <3 but nothing beats the apartment my dad’s got here in dublin, especially not seven sisters hahaha.

That party last night..

haha so yesterday was midsummer, pretty much the equivilent of the american thanksgiving i guess. except that swedes get really drunk. we tried to pretty much do it the traditional way so we made a yummy dinner. potatoes, salmon, and a salad. no pickled herring thank god. then some strawberries and ice cream for dessert :D

yummy dinner!

(me before going out) so yesterday we went out to eat dinner with pinky. we ended up at a restaurant called Alfie’s. They had sunflowers on all the tables, and a random guy from the street walked up to us and said ‘excuse me’ as if he was going to sit down, instead he stole the flower and ran off. weird much? if im not mistaken i think emmelie likes sunflowers?

the lady tried to serve me red wine, HA! i ate a caesar salad and dad had some salmon skewers with some out of this world potatoes. no dessert, werent we good mom? :)

we then saw this party bus, aka a fire truck, turned into a limo for people to party in. ha the girls were well on their way. then we decided, even though it was early, we would try our luck at howl at the moon. well we got in no problem, that was probably because there was NO ONE in there besides us and the workers. there was a buddha there! so dad wanted to take a picture.

yep. so after an hour of only a couple of people showing up we moved on. we went to cafe en seine of course, our favorite place to dance. as soon as we got there dad (of all people!) dragged us up on the dance floor. and yep, thats where we stayed until the wee hours of the morning when they turned the music off. and god did my feet hate me when we got home. i already had 4 blisters from earlier in the day and well today, they still hate me :( but well worth it!

cant really see much but its the dance floor at cafe en seine from above. last night really was en seine! haha i mean insane  but the last club we were at is named en seine. we started at temple bar where it was PACKED, and people were dressed all kind of funny. i danced with a guy dressed as an old lady, and emmelie took pictures. once again i have none of the pictures she took :( but soon i hope! also pinky came and met up with us there. we then decided to do some bar hopping. first we went to the porterhouse. it was PACKED, they played some live irish music at first but then switched to some rock and whatnot. super cool place! copper everywhere and i think it was about five different levels. from there we decided to go to fitzsimons cause i figured emmelie might like it. oh and i got in with emmelies drivers license. shes 25, im 17. what a joke. its almost too easy here. anyways we were all upstairs dancing when all of the sudden a little asian bride to be gets up and starts dancing on the tables. she was really good too, then one of the grooms to be joins her. after a while the bouncers come and tell them to get down. the girl doesnt get in trouble but they start trying to kick out the guy, um wtf? why? a little harmless dancing. anyways that was entertaining. we saw a bunch of stag and hen parties (bachelor/bachelorette parties). from there mom and dad decided to go home and sleep, after all they did have to get up early this morning and fly away. sister and pinky and i went on to cafe en seine. once again too easy to get it. there it was packed and hot. i need to start going out in lighter clothes. i cant handle the heat on the dance floor. that was entertaining. we then called it a night and got some fast food at burger king before coming home and sleeping! it was fun to go out with another girl for once. cant say i really enjoy all the gross guys on the dance floors though. seriously is it the alcohol that makes them so confident? cause some of them shouldnt be. below is a picture of emmelie, shes wearing the nights most popular accesory. her hair clip. one guy even asked if it was a dead bird, i told him that it wasnt really a compliment haha.

anyways i think everyone feels good today! so all in all a good night out. miss you already mom/emmelie.
