Cheap eats

August 10th, 2011 No comments

Simon and I were by Oxford Street yesterday in order to look for some last minute things for Corfu (forgot to buy sunscreen.. damn it) .
ended up by Carnaby Street so we decided to have a late lunch at Cha Cha Moons.

Recommended if you’re on a tight budget. We got one of their summer specials, a main course and a side dish for 10 pounds.

I had the singapore fried noodles with chicken dumplings, and simon had some other noodles with spring rolls.

Left satisfied and happy!

went to dinner with a girl named Nelly who is starting work at Burberry on Monday with me. was faithful to my singapore fried noodles of course. only had tap water so my meal was well cheap.

towards the end of the meal i noticed this cutie pie sat behind us. i almost died, partially because i was gonna steal the dog. i want one so bad, he was the cutest little boy in the world.

Weekend with Emmelie

thursday night when emmelie arrived we went to carnaby street for a few drinks in the pub with my father, then to leicster square for a pint as well. a pretty early night, then dad left for sweden in the morning.

friday we went shopping, figured it was better to get oxford street out the way before the weekend madness. primark, topshop, river island, you name it we were there. i ended up with a pair of shorts (christmas present from emps) and a tshirt.

emmelie on the other hand ended up with a little less. then we lunched at cha cha moon off of carnaby street :) and once again ended up in a pub.

cha cha moon

then we walked back to marylebone, bought wine, crackers, and cheese. didn’t really have a proper dinner but that didn’t stop us from drinking and going out! we decided on pacha, which i’ve never been to, and it was a good night. short lived but still good.

then in the morning we walked through my school, regent’s park, and then to camden. had the best bento box lunch i’ve ever had. don’t think emmelie enjoyed hers as much.

we wandered through the market for hours before deciding to get the bus home.

met up with simon in covent garden in the evening and ate at a mexican restaurant, and the torillas were very nice. tacos had a bit too much chicken in them but it was edible. simon said mexican food looked like ‘sick’, which to be fair is rather true. then another pub and more wine. simon was tired to he left us, so emmelie and i decided to stay for one more drink then we headed home. early nice since we were so tired.

yesterday we were both pretty slow, mentally and psychically. wandered down to selfridges had a look around, had a lovely soup lunch at a french bakery. then we wandered around for a bit before going to winter wonderland.

i haven’t laughed as hard as i did when we came out of the ‘haunted house’. was really enjoyable. then we head for dinner, yet again off of carnaby street. a korean restaurant where the food is cooked on a grill on the table.. so not impressed and will probably not be going back.

simon’s mom has been in london this weekend. so i’ve been hanging along with them.

friday we went to ikea to get simon a desk, which of course wasn’t in stock. then went to dinner to the same restaurant i’d been with my dad to. really enjoyable.

saturday simon and his mom woke up early and went to camden and regent’s park, where i met them later on. we started walking along marylebone high street but then simon had to go to hockey. so then us girls continued on with the shopping. went to selfridges, got some really tasty tea. then met back up with simon. dinner at cha cha moon, then just watched a movie at home.

i’ve been so ridiculously tired this week!

Unfortunate events

had a lovely evening planned for yesterday. dinner at cha cha moon, and then off to see alice in wonderland. didn’t turn out to be what i wanted. dinner wasn’t bad. company was lovely as always, but sitting cramped next to strangers talking about nonsense doesn’t really do it for me. service wasn’t amazing either so i dont know if ill be visiting there anytime soon. then of course when i go to get the tickets for the movie, there aren’t any reserved. apparently when i booked them online they somehow changed from leicester square to aberdeen. thats in scotland! oh i was no pleased. so that was 20 pounds down the drain. however im emailing them and complaining about their online services. that’s just ridiculous. so no i wasn’t a happy My. went to a different cinema and bought new tickets. 33 pounds. fucking stupid. oh well i loved the movie. i dont think you can look at it like the original alice in wonderland cause then you’ll just be disappointed, for me its just tim burton’s version of alice. cheered me up though!

went out to dinner tonight at Cha Cha moon with Simon. His birthday’s tomorrow but his brothers coming down and the boys all have something planned so i figured we’d celebrate alone tonight. had a lovely meal :) a chicken salad that was quite spicy with some yummy drinks and lovely company. gave simon his present as well, but i have to admit i’m a complete idiot sometimes!! made kelly’s card at the same time as simon’s and accidentally wrote happy 21st on simon’s :( he’s only 20! blonde much? so embarrassing! oh well, boys will be boys. doubt he cares! (at least i hope not!)
