Cousin

July 10th, 2011 No comments

friday evening i met up with Jenny, my beloved cousin. we had dinner and a few drinks at Boulebar. super nice place and was even better in the sun! then after that we came home real quick, i changed into some heels and another outfit, then we met up with my friend Fredrick and a few of his mates.

pre drinks and then drinks at White Room until the wee hours in the morning. 4 hours of sleep.. check. hangover commencing.. check.

Dancer or !%*”#, you decide

im just a bit curious. walked past sophisticats the other day, and realised i’d been in there about a year ago. never realised how close i lived to a strip club, eeek.

however it then got me thinking when i was out the other week as well with the girls who dance on ‘stage’ in clubs.

what’s the different between that sort of girl and a stripper?

they’re both paid to be semi-naked on stage. whether it be stomach legs or cooch is another matter.

i guess it’s cause my moral compass says no way in hell would a respectable girl every take a job like that, cause if you’ve got the want you’ve got the ability to get a job that’s a bit more reputable.

however im curious if im the only one who thinks like this?

i mean money is money if your in dire need, but i’d rather work at mcdonalds, and im sure my father would agree.

simon got really antsy about just staying in all day yesterday so after dinner we got ready and went out for a quick drink..

Picture 1

little did we know what our night would end up being so much more.

we walked to the high street and went to the marylebone. they had a deal on cocktails, two for one, so i made simon have drinks with me :) hehe. let me tell you he did not enjoy drinking a watermelon cosmopolitan! (although it was gorgeous) we also tried the pear julip (no bueno), elderflower margarita, and lychee chili! drunk? yes.

then instead of being sensible and going home i somehow convinced simon that going out, just the two of us, was an amazing idea!

so there we were, walking down the high street to oxford street, swigging a bacardi breezer. we must have been quite the sight.

got to strawberry moons and decided to go for the jugs. danced around, acted like idiots, chatted with some americans, then headed home.

for some reason simon decided to be my ‘pimp’, so i sat in corners on oxford street, in heels a dress and a chanel bag, begging for money. i’ve never laughed so hard in my life. thinking about it today, people must have thought i was ridiculous, which i am. then we tried to convince a bike taxi to take us back to mine for 5 pounds.
‘how much is it to marylebone?’
’15′
’5′
’10′
’5′
‘no can do, 10 is the lowest i’m going’
‘never mind then’

and that happened about three different times.

then simon caught sight of the barclays bikes. yep, you guessed it. he decided to take me for a ‘ride’, which more or less included me trying to hold on for my dear life whilst simon tired to stay up right.  we fell, and fell, and fell. then finally i said no more, i’m walking the rest of the way.

so just as we turned off regent’s street a BMV drives up and tried to get my attention, simon blew the guy a kiss. now apparently the guy didn’t like gays, so he got out the car and spat in my face? yeah OOOOOOKAY THEN. it all went downhill from there. 4 dirty sand people against me and simon, seems fair.. not. so another couple walking past decided to help out. and looking back on it now, it would have been soo funny to watch. guys beating up the idiots who started it, one girl trying to claw people’s eyes, and yet another girl hitting the guys with her purse.

called the cops, had their license plate number, waited, waited, waited… then finally the police came and guess who got a ride home in a cop car? me.

not because i’d done anything wrong, simply cause simon asked ‘sooo uhh,.. mind giving us a lift home?’

what a night.

Tiesto in Victoria Park

saw pendulum and my favorite dj tiesto play yesterday in victoria park! somehow made it all the way to the front and i’m paying for it today with all my bruises from the barrier.

was a good time, this i was a bit drunk in the beginning but that slowly faded away with the time while we were dancing around.

it was a good experience, think tiesto might be a bit past his prime, but still worth seeing. was a bit upset that he didn’t play just be, but hey we can’t have it all eh? then in the end simon got me up on his shoulders and that was quite the view of the crowd and whatnot, pretty cool!

Smothered in smoke

when we were out last night everyone ended up looking around for simon and chloe. where had they gone? to smoke of course.

now don’t think i’m some kind of hypocrite, cause i’m not. i’m not saying smoking is evil and that people shouldn’t smoke. granted, smoking isn’t good for you. people honestly shouldn’t smoke either, but most of us have.

i’ve smoked. i didn’t make it public because well.. i don’t think it’s something to be proud of. it was just like every other bad habit i’ve ever had, a waste of money, time, and health.

it’s easier for me to bring light on a subject when my hands are clean.

i started smoking a lot when i moved to london. my money ran away from me with every flick of my lighter. then i gradually slowed down. ‘party smoked’ as i call it. smoked when i drank. then i cut back even more, smoked when i was stressed or felt fidgety. then i just stopped one day. i didn’t decide to stop smoking, i even said i hadn’t quit. it made it easier knowing i was allowed to smoke whenever i wanted. funny thing is, i’ve never physically ‘craved’ a cigarette, mentally maybe.

so months gone by since even having a drag from the cancer sticks and i’ve got to say that i find cigarettes ridiculously annoying now. the smell gets to me like no other as well.

what i’m getting at is that non-smokers shouldn’t have to give respect to smokers. i shouldn’t have to move away from the smoke you’re blowing in my face (granted half the time you don’t even know your doing it). i shouldn’t have to cease my dancing to find where the smokers have disappeared to. i shouldn’t have to work around your smoking habit.

if anything i think that becoming a ‘non-smoker’ has lead me to become more aware of my surroundings and i just wish ‘smokers’ would realize it as well.

Night out in Newcastle

the boys, chloe, and i drove up to newcastle in two cars. don’t think anyone in our car was SUPER up for it, that was until we got there. went to the shop and some of them bought some drinks. i had my usual, southern comfort lemonade.

pre-drank at chris’ house. played some games, watched mtv music videos (never see any anymore do you?). some of us were smarter than others. chloe and i decided not to have one last drink cause we both thought we’d be over the edge. hopped in the taxi and went into the circus.

sister wasn’t kidding when she said newcastle was a sight. boy oh boy the people i saw. a night to remember for sure.

got there and realized we all needed cash, so three of us stayed behind and waited. and waited. and waited. to the point where i just wasn’t feeling it anymore. decided to meet the rest of the boys in the pub.

got in and my god. smelt like piss. dark. hot. sticky floors. carpet. only good thing? cheap drinks. but a triple vodka lemonade was not in the cards for me, so i gave it to chloe :)

then as if everyone woke up at the same time, we went to a different place called digital. in we went and boy oh boy. it wasn’t exactly cool in there either but i guess that was because i was dancing like a mad woman. must have been a sight to see!

got a taxi back to chris’ house and passed out pretty quickly. so i can definitely say that newcastle is quite the circus at night, and i enjoyed it thoroughly!

after simon had dressed me up we headed over to the pub for a quick drink. then after a while we got restless and moved on. went to the nightclub and danced for a while and then simon got tired wanted to go home but i said no, as soon as i had said that i got tired and wanted to go home, haha. rather early night, and luckily enough not feeling too bad today ;)

A day away

June 7th, 2010 No comments

feels like i’ve been out of the country or something today. went to regent’s street, but then quickly realized there wasn’t that much to see at the spanish festival. lines were too long for food, there weren’t any drinks. no sangria or manchego cheese. a bit disappointed!

there was a bit of sports stuff! basketball, golf, formula one racing, football. when leaving we got free vitamin water!!

after that we moved on to the camden green festival in regent’s park which is only a short walk away.

realized it was a total hippie-fest! although, it’s made me wanna go to a music festival so bad, so me and simon are looking at going to one in leeds during august, should be a good time. no make-up and a lot of nastiness i guess? we’ll see what happens! sat down, since the weather was completely wrong, no rain just sunshine. enjoyed the sun, listened to music and watched capoeira. the kids doing it was really cute!

how was your sunday?

Thirsty on a thursday

May 29th, 2010 No comments

so the reason i didn’t update yesterday was that thursday afternoon/night involved a little bit too much alcohol. started off meeting up with one of simon’s best friends james on oxford street. he was with a couple of guy friends from back home and they had come to london to see john mayer. so we ended up have our first drink in a bar called the phoenix, then they had to leave for the concert. went to topshop, found tom and then met up with two girls they had gone to school with. then we went to a place called all bar one.

it’s a nice place, me and simon went to one by the london eye and really enjoyed it. this one wasn’t as impressive. the place we were sat at was highly annoying for me. really tall seats so my feet didn’t touch the ground and i just couldn’t get comfortable and on top of that my legs were falling asleep. i was so happy to get out of there that i left my phone. lucky i noticed quite quickly ran back and the waiter had it and handed it to me straight away. thank god for that because if not my night would have been ruined. there would’ve been a pissed of little me and a whole lot of tears. then we moved on to a cocktail bar.

Picture 2

the girls got their drinks they were keen on drinking and we continued with the red wine. let me just mention that at this point i was getting on it. and the plan was that when the girls finally left we would go home, but alas! james called and the plans changed immediately. we met up with them on oxford street and then started walking towards a club. so strawberry moons it was!

Picture 5

the walk there was fine. except for the fact that i saw all the lucky bastards sat outside the Apple store waiting for the friday release. i want one! i want one! i want one! strawberry moons wasn’t too packed but the fact that the dance floor was halfway empty and the dj was playing everything i wanted made it amazing! usher-OMG and sweet child of mine were the nights favorites, at least for me. i was the only girl and the guys seemed to want to chill, but nope. i would simply not have it. dragged everyone onto the dance floor and to be honest i must have looked like a pimp, haha kidding! from there we moved on yet again..

Picture 4

yeah, i ended up with 5 guys at a strip club. little blonde girl in a strip club. geeez, it must have been a sight to see! i was the only girl in there… besides the one behind the bar and of course the dancers.  i can’t explain it but unimpressed and shocked kind of puts my feelings into perspective. let me just tell you it’s nothing like it is in the movies. the girls are not good looking. the club in it self was not nice. it was… trashy. not what i expected. not the image i had in my mind. so to say the least you wont be seeing me in one anytime soon. after that we left at like 6 in the morning to get the first tube home.. must have both fallen asleep because we ended up in brixton.. so off the tube to get yet another one. didn’t get to bed until 8 in the morning and i’ll tell you this much, when i woke up around noon i felt like death. so yes being thirsty on a thursday was the reason i didn’t update all day yesterday and didn’t move a muscle either.
