September 16th, 2011 No comments

on tuesday night i met up with Claes and Pia by oxford circus. we then went for some starters and wine at La Tasca on regent street. from there we then moved on to dinner at an indian restaurant somewhere near great portland street.

the food was delicious and the wine as well. was funny when we were ordering though.. look at nr. 69 ;) very sexy wine. haha!

was a lovely meal and thoroughly enjoyed the company.

Food, dinner, and then some more eating

since we all had different things planned during the day we mostly met up in the evenings for meals. friday night we were in covent garden at an indian restaurant called masala zone. can’t say it was great, very commercialised and westernised, but edible. plus my mango bellini made up for it a bit! felt like a mini reunion from mexico as theo decided to join us as well!

then on saturday i managed to get everyone together in camden. went to sen nin, an amazing japanese restaurant. we got lucky and managed to get a table for 7 even without reservations. had teppanyaki and watched the cook make food right in front of us. ate pretty much everything on my plate, and don’t even want to think about what the bill was like…

then last night i went to dinner with the jerome’s to say goodbye as they flew back to the states today, ate at a restaurant in mayfair. italian food, and honestly.. how can you go wrong with italian food? mozzarella and tomato starter with parma ham and melon. then i had crab ravioli as a main course. was a bit olily, but then again edible no?! plus the wine made it all go down very nicely.

feels like its back to reality now, but then again im in sweden this weekend celebrating midsummer so maybe not!

Dinner and more..

when simon finished with hockey we went for a ‘starter’ at wetherspoons. didn’t know there was going to be so much food later on, but simon needed something quick. then we moved ourselves onto the tube and off to south kensington.

where joe had a belated birthday get together with his family at his uncle’s house. beautiful house, beautiful people, and beautiful pets! not to mention the beautiful food. soo many curries to choose from and soo much to eat! and even more champagne to drink! such a lovely get together.

then we made our way home in the taxi as the nights plans of going out got a bit confused. took so many picture in the taxi yet barely any of them are useable.. we’re not always the prettiest couple.

Dublin

After a bit of sleep on the plane as well, Simon 21 year old birthday boy and i ended up in Dublin, Ireland.

It was well early and EVERYTHING was closed. good planning on my part? no.

so we wandered around the empty streets. finally settled for breakfast at a little shop, what a disappointment!

then we got a tour bus, figured it was less walking, could go to the Guinness factory, and learn a bit about the city!

the driver told us how he cured his depression, “i watch my wedding video… on rewind, my favourite part is when she gives me the ring back, gets in the car and fucks off.”

finally checked in at the hotel around 3. took a well needed nap. then got ready for dinner!

ate at a little thai restaurant, food was good but it’s no monkey & me ;)

then we went to cafe en seine, of course, for a couple! simon was so tired we were home around 1. not the night i had planned for, but it was good to get some sleep.

sunday we wandered around. bought a glass from hard rock for my mamma, looked in the shops. walked to where dad and i used to live. stopped by a christmas market, and last but not least drank in Temple Bar.

had a horrible indian meal for dinner and jetted off to the airport and were back in my flat in london by 1130.

ahh see! dad sitting on the park bench and enjoying the sun. we went back to stephens green, not on purpose just ended up there. we got some left over bread and went down to feed elliott, but he was nowhere in sight. so we walked and ended up there. stopped at a store bought two muffins and a diet coke for me and a coffee for papi. it was so nice to just sit in the sun. the wind was nowhere to be found so it was warm. almost too warm for my uggs. i was going to feed the swans and ducks there, but by the looks of all the people and bread around they werent hungry :( so i ended up sitting next to an old lady feeding the pigeons. yep. thats me.

then after soaking up all the sun we could get we went on a further walk. ended up seeing the first pub i ever went to in Dublin go up in flames. heres a picture of the firefighters trying to put the fire out. crazy smoke and water flowing on the street outside.

we then continued our ‘little’ walk that turned into a 5 hour walk. we ended up at irelands oldest pub! dad had a guinness like usual. from the pictures i put up it looks like hes an alcoholic. i swear he doesnt drink that much ;) he works too! he works ten times more than he drinks, i just dont find those pictures interesting.

after all of that we then went to have dinner at diwali or something like that.. indian food. i like! no i love! i had masala with chick peas. yummy yummy. then we walked home too. by the time we got home i was HOT from the speed walking and the sun and just my luck.. the elevator was broken. so up we go 6 flights of stairs. makes me wonder if all i do at the gym does nothing for me? times like those im happy we dont live in the penthouse! anyways i think i got my fair share of exercise today even if i didnt go to the gym this morning!
