Strada & Starbucks

November 5th, 2011 No comments

went to dinner with sophia and alexandra on marylebone high street. went to strada had a lush pasta dish. finished every last bite.. as you do. then alex and i moved on to starbucks for an evening coffee. caramel machiatto.. wow i’m just filling up on calories aren’t i? shit.

any way, now i’m sat on my couch looking out my window at the colorful sky.. fireworks are going off everywhere. it’s the most annoying sound ever. hope this doesn’t go on all night.

going to dinner at my favourite restaurant. relearning to enjoy the good things in life, hopefully without the guilt this time.

New flat

im ridiculously happy i’ve moved. yes ill miss marylebone, but no i wont miss living in a freaking dungeon. my flat now is much smaller, but it reminds me of the flat me and my father shared in Dublin. clean and new! even smells the same in the hallway.. weird much?

but seriously, bigger fridge, nice microwave, big bathroom which is clean and doesn’t stay moist for hours on end, and a fold away bed for storage and more space! yes it’s smaller but it’s only me living there.. i’m not that big! although i think i need a step ladder for the closet and kitchen.. im wee midgety aren’t i?

getting up ridiculously early tomorrow to drive to Ikea and get the last bits, then returning the car in marble arch… damn it gonna have to get public transport again.. not excited. love having a car.. feels so FREE!

Handed back my keys and said goodbye to Marylebone. It’s been one hell of a year with so many great memories, never going to forget my first flat!

Now I’m homeless for a night, so I’m staying in turnpike lane tonight before I get the keys to my new flat tomorrow morning. Buzzing!

just had a shower, now i’m packing up the last bits for tomorrow. early start, so it’s better to get it out of the way now. i’m nervous and i’m not quite sure why…

oh well, bedtime it is. going to watch something and try to sleep relatively early!

I may be spoiled, but i’m not rotten

tomorrows the big day… all my stuff is packed (for the most part :) ) and simon’s coming with me to pick up the rental car tomorrow morning at 830. worked out that it was easiest that way, and cheapest! a moving company wanted to charge students 60 pounds an hour.. really?!

anyways im saying goodbye to Marylebone and hello to Camden!

Daddy and me

had such a busy weekend with my father here and i loved every minute of it! on friday evening we went and saw Jersey boys a west end musical.

it wasn’t bad but the music isn’t really my generation, or my fathers for that matter. so towards the end everything just shouldn’t the same to me. but worth seeing if you’re into that kind of music!

Saturday during the day we just walked around london to see various things. walked all the way from marylebone, down to marble arch. through green park, past buckingham palace, down to pimlico and saw the london eye and westminster abbey.

then walked back from trafalgar square to my flat! even saw winston churchill perving on my father by bond street…

talk about being tired before going out to dinner and the pub..

the jerome family is in london this weekend as well. so wednesday evening i went to Green Park to meet them at the pub. had a couple of drinks and they decided they fancied thai food.. guess where i took them? monkey & me of course!

simon came an met us as well. had panang, green curry and a red. a cashew nut stir fry and pad thai, don’t forget the tempura starters!

i love that resturant and the three bottles of wine surely didn’t slow us down. so after we went to the temperance pub around the corner from my flat.

finished off the night with a short walk home.. literally around the corner.
