Boat trip

August 28th, 2011 No comments

Simon was well keen on renting a little ‘fishing’ boat for a day when we were in Greece. so one morning we all got up really early and went down to the Nissaki pier and rented one.
looking back at the pictures now, i want to be back in Greece. it was so nice just reading a book and cruising around on the waters..

whenever we found little coves we decided to stop in and see what the waters were like, and some were nicer than others.

scuba simon was in the water at every stop we made.

then we found a cove that had a stone beach, and the water was clear as anything! never mind that the water was actually warm as well.

thought i had died and gone to heaven, Simon however had to deal with the boat ;)

then as we were heading back to the pier to return the boat, we spotted some dolphins! there were about 6 of them, however a bit hard to capture on camera.

thought it was a pretty good ending to a pretty good day out and about on the water!

Study buddy…

The Great ‘Dog Whistle’ Debate

November 27th, 2010 No comments

Cosmopolitan did an article a while back that i wrote about, check it out here, and i’ve noticed that it’s been quite popular.

so last month i saved my cosmo magazine so i could write about the follow-up, but i’ve put it off for so long..

so here it is!

‘im no dog whistle’ vs. ‘dog whistles do exist’

personally, i think they do exist. i think the girls ‘defending’ them, are either dog whistles themselves or don’t really understand the concept.

i’m friends with plenty of guys, i chill with them. i play their games, i drink beer, i’m sort of a tomboy at times. but this doesn’t make me a dog whistle, just a friend. if you go around with an ulterior motive, then that’s another story. one girl from Bath, U.K. said ”i sit on the  laps of my male friends and discuss sex with them,” i find that a bit weird. i really hope that those guys don’t have girlfriends because i would not be happy. i think there’s also a difference when there’s an attractive girl in the group compared to maybe not being so ‘hot’. guys will always have ulterior motives.

a lot of women think it’s harsh that we’re labelling women, but really? we’re all labelled a million times over and the ‘dog whistle’ label has made me feel like i’m not the only girl in the world feeling this way.

Lunch break

came home for lunch. saves money and this way i don’t get ridiculously bored of the campus within a month!

bought my textbooks from amazon and wow! why doesn’t everyone do this? 50 pounds for 4 books, instead of 50 pounds per book. cha ching!

it looks really nice out cause the sun is shining, but my god it is not warm!

What the hell?

August 24th, 2010 No comments

bought a cosmopolitan magazine a couple of days ago and i got a free book with it.

so now i’m reading ‘what the hell is he thinking?’ and so far, it’s alright. i don’t know if i care about half the things in it, but some interesting things have popped up.

“What does he think if I sleep with him on the first date? Why is he possessive even when he isn’t all that into me? What does it mean when he won’t call me his girlfriend? Why does he freak out when I leave my stuff at his house?

What the HELL is He Thinking?

Having spent a good part of her post-pubescent life picking apart dating dilemmas with her girlfriends over cocktails, Zoe Strimpel decided it was time to do something once and for all about the mystery that is the male mind.

So, instead of moping about in the Mars/Venus divide, Zoe did something completely crazy: she talked to actual guys, getting them to explain the tales of confusion that she had gathered from her friends. And – would you believe – they had a lot of gems to offer. So while she had their attention, she also asked them the Eighty Questions You Most Want Men to Answer.’

Read, Reading, Read.

July 8th, 2010 No comments

i brought two books with me here. stole one from my sister. and still had nothing left to read. so i went to akademibokhandeln (book store) and bought two new books!

i’ve loved all the autobiographies i’ve read so far so let’s hope these two are just as interesting. one’s about ozzy osbourne’s life, and the other is a close friend of bob marley’s telling some of marley’s life stories.

Twilight Saga

sister’s booked the tickets and so tonight it’s time! we’re going to see the new twilight movie, eclipse!

i’m excited. hope it’s much better than the last one, which it should be considering the third book is soo much better than the second.
